For all the essential teaching materials please go to Daymap - staff tab - learning area resources - English and scroll to the bottom below year level folders for a complete set of worksheets and materials for teaching independent reading from 7 - 9. Year 7 should cover workshops/conferences 1-4. This file is extremely large and would not load on to the wiki.
To set up your folder you need the document below - a copy for each student that parent volunteers can tick off
Please use Lamb to the Slaughter for questioning with Year 7 only. I suggest using Shaun Tan's The Arrival for Inferring - a picture book - again with Year 7.
Year 7 = lots of explicit teaching of the strategies. Year 8 = revising and going over them and continuing with conferring.
